Peace of mind while your child plays
Huhu is made so that a child can play on their own without you having to look over their shoulder all the time. Here is exactly what that means.
Nothing is collected
- No sign-up, no account and no login.
- No analytics, no cookies and no tracking.
- Age, adaptations, progress and stickers are stored only on your device and are never sent anywhere.
No ads and no lures
- No ads and no links that lead out of the app.
- Children see only games they can play: locked games are not shown, so nothing nudges them to buy.
- No notifications, daily streaks, rewards for coming back every day or leaderboards.
- Stickers in the album are simply collected; there is no competing or comparing with other children.
Parental gate
- Settings and purchases are hidden behind a padlock.
- The padlock has to be held for three seconds, then two two-digit numbers added, which a young child cannot do by accident.
- Purchases are possible only behind the parental gate.
No microphone, camera or other people
- The microphone and camera are never used. Children can answer the owl’s questions out loud, but nothing is recorded.
- No chat, no playing with strangers and no contact with other people of any kind.
- The owl’s voice is the one built into the device, so no text is sent to the internet.
- The motion sensor is used only in tilting games and only on the device.
Screen time under control
- A daily limit from 10 to 60 minutes (or no limit).
- A small clock on the screen shows how much time is left; tap it for a bigger view.
- Two minutes before the end the owl announces a break, and then she goes to sleep.
- A parent can extend play by 10 or 20 minutes, behind the parental gate.
Works offline
- After the first visit every game works without a connection: in the car, on a plane or in a waiting room.
- When the internet is not needed, a child cannot "wander off" anywhere.
